Advanced Level Judging Workshop
18th March 2026 8:00 pm-9:00 pm
Kelly Milnes
As you may have seen across recent competitions, there has been a noticeable increase in the number of gymnasts competing at Levels 8, Diamond, and Level 9, reflecting the continued growth and progression of athletes within NGA events.
As the standard and range of routines continues to develop, it is increasingly important that judges feel confident and well-equipped to assess the more advanced requirements these levels bring. To support this, Kelly, the UK Judging Lead, will be delivering an Advanced Level Judging Workshop open to all judges and interested members of the community.
This online session will take place on Wednesday 18th March from 20:00–21:00 via Zoom and is designed to provide additional guidance and clarity around judging the higher levels within the NGA structure. The workshop will focus particularly on start value calculations, composition requirements, and the key judging considerations for Levels 8, Diamond, Level 9 and Level 10. It will also provide an opportunity for attendees to ask questions and gain a clearer understanding of how these routines are evaluated in competition.
The session is open to anyone who would like to attend, whether you are an experienced judge looking to refresh your knowledge or someone who would like to further develop their understanding of the advanced levels. Building this knowledge now will be especially valuable as the standard and number of gymnasts competing at these levels continues to grow, particularly with more new clubs joining NGA competitions and athletes progressing through the pathway.
Please note that the Advanced Level Judging Workshop is a recent addition to the calendar and will not appear on the events page until early next week, as the website is currently prioritising information for a competition taking place this weekend. From next week onwards, you will be able to access the sign-on link via the NGA UK events page in time to register for the session on Wednesday.
